We recently finished our fundraiser supporting the work of Stop Street Harassment - an incredible grass-roots organization working hard to research, prevent, and support survivors of street harassment in the US and elsewhere. They have done powerful and critical work on this issue and we thank them for all they do.

My eyes were opened to the reality and scope of men’s violence against women when I was in college. Now, as a recruiter for some of the top tech companies in the country, I work hard to address violence and discrimination in the tech industry.

My whole life, I’ve been learning from women about the extent of my own gender’s violence against them. And for nearly 30 years, I’ve been speaking out against male violence, sexism, homophobia and transphobia. Excited to be a part of MenChallenging.

I don’t really know many if any women who haven’t dealt with violence, or many men who aren’t affected by it as well. As men we need to do more to stop it.

I grew up with domestic violence in my home, and it lives with me every single day. I can't step outside the privileges I've garnered as a white man, but I can at least try and use that privilege to directly support marginalized organizations that are working to reduce gender based violence and other forms of oppression. It's a choice that I invite other men to make as well.
